Canopy over part of outside terrace

Canopy over part of outside terrace

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert I live in a flat which has a large terrace/balcony outside. I wanted to put up a canopy across part of the terrace to create a seating area outside which is sheltered from the rain. Something like this – http://www.wickes.co.uk/Palram-Feria-Patio-Cover-White-Clear-3×5-46m/p/147845

I have also thought about getting a retractable one like this – https://www.primrose-awnings.co.uk/?source=googleads&gclid=CJ7hoe7AgNECFaoW0wodjhcIUQ I would imagine this definitely doesn’t need permission?

The canopy will be fixed onto the wall under the flat above us so not obstructing their windows. Do I need planning permission for this? Thanks.

    Hello Katy.

As this is a flat/apartment you would need planning permission for either of these options.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission
