Changed window to patio doors

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert When we moved to our house over a year ago we removed a window in our dining room and replaced it with patio doors. We were told by our joiner that no permission was required.

I wanted to double check this as we are planning on selling soon and want to get everything in order first. Do we have to do anything regarding this?

    Hello Laura.

You wouldn’t of needed planning permission for this change as long as your property isn’t in a conservation area or listed.

You should of applied for a building warrant for this as you have made changes to the external wall of the building.

You can apply for a building warrant in retrospect.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission
