Completion of work where no Building Warrant
I have written confirmation from Building Control that I don’t now need a Building Warrant as exemption applies to both new cattery buildings. Being exempt seem to have taken councils building control by surprise (as they described it as having “opened a can of worms”). Since I don’t require a Building Warrant is it now simply up to me to ensure the correct standards of construction, materials, etc are adhered to and no completion certifate applies? Has no ever tried to create a more user friendly, plain English guide to Planning Applications and Warrants? Not all Council websites appear to be saying the same things. Once the building work is finished I will have to apply for a Cattery Boarding Llicense. Is this then the only Council inspection that will apply?
Copy of Building Control confirmation attached.
