Conservation area – internal room alterations

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert Are there restrictions in altering internal room dimensions – specifically to make an upper floor open plan where the property is within the bounds of a conservation area (but is not a listed building).
There would be no external alterations to the property.

The conservation area is Aberdour in Fife.

    TIm,

From your description, it is unlikely that planning permission would be required, even though it is in a conservation area. Depending on the nature of the internal alterations, you will however need a building warrant. Please feel free to get in touch if you would to discuss this further or would like any help with the application.
