Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert Do we need planning permission for an existing takeaway, this is a portacabin that had been converted into a fastfood takeaway ten plus years ago and is placed in a carpark with permission. It has changed hands a number of times and now has a new name and owners. Nothing has changed to the building structure it is still going to trade as a takeaway

    Cathi.

It shouldn’t make a difference that it has changed owners.

I don’t know the specific detail of your planning approval but you can find that with buildings of this type the planning permission has a time limit on it, e.g. the planning permission may of been granted for a period of 2 years.

You would be able to check this on your local councils website, if you look for the planning approval it will give detail in the planning conditions it was time limited.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission.
