Office to Yoga studio

Office to Yoga studio

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert Hi I want to change a commercial office property into a Yoga studio. The class of the premises (not acquired yet) is likely to be class 2 or 4.

How would I go about changing the classification, what are the costs likely to be, is it likely to get rejected?

Thank you,

Nicki

    Hi Nikki.

You are right if it is currently an office it is likely to be class 2 or 4.

A yoga studio is likely to be considered as class 11 Assembly and Leisure which if the current class is 2 or 4 you would need to apply for a change of use.

To do this you would have to make an application to the council to where you would give details of your proposed use which may include details of proposed parking arrangements, opening times etc… An application for change of use costs £401 for the application to the council.

Without knowing the specific project detail it is hard to give a view on whether this would be approved or not.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission.
