Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert Hello,

I would like some advice on what sized building can be built if planning permission is refused on a project? It would be the maximum size without having to apply for any planning permission at all?

Would this still then need a building warrant?

Any advice would be really appreciated, I look forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks,

    Hi Beth.

Is this a completely new site or development within the boundary of an existing property?

If it is a new site (e.g. not yet developed, green field) then you can’t build anything without getting planning permission.

If this is an existing property and you are wanting to add something within the boundary of the property there are some things you can do without planning permission and building warrant.

If you could give us some more detail on what the existing site is and what you plan to build and use the building for we may be able to give you further advice.

If it is an existing building some of our categories in the planning menu above may assist you.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission.
