Raised decking & gazebo

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert

Do I need planning permission for a raised decking around 1 metre high off the ground and also can we put a gazebo just under 3 metres in height if we build it 1 metre out from the boundary? Thanks

    Hi Sam.

For this to be classed as permitted development (not requiring planning permission) the deck would need to be less than 500mm from the existing ground level.

If the gazebo then ended up over 4 metres in height from the original ground level this would also need planning permission.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission
