Removal of en suite bathroom

Removal of en suite bathroom

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert Hello,

Our offer has been accepted on a flat in Edinburgh (EH10; not listed) and everything seems to be on track for the mortgage approval. If everything goes ahead, we would like to remove the en suite bathroom straight away (we get the keys on 11 March; there is no other storage space in the flat). I would like to know what, if any, planning permission or building warrant would be required for this. If there is we’d like to begin looking at the application process now.

Thank you,
Emily

    Hello Emily.

Are you just removing the sanitary ware and leaving everything else as is? e.g. your not changing any walls etc…

If it was just removing the fittings you wouldn’t need permission but if you are making changes to any mains drainage or walls you would need to apply for permission.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission
