    Hi David

As long as you are not in a conservation area or your property is a listed building you do not require the benefit of planning consent.

In terms of building warrant approval, you should have had a warrant in place for these works.

As long as the works have been professionally carried out there should be no issues in terms of the French doors installation, however it will cause problems when / if you come to sell your property as the buyers solicitor will look for some form of paperwork and approval for this work. This will require you to obtain a qualified statement from the local authority building standards department.

Trust this is helpful. If you require any further information please get in touch.
