Replacing window with French doors and door with window

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert Hi

I recently opened up a kitchen and dining room into one room and had the dining room window taken out and replaced with a set of Frech doors of same width. In addition, an external door from the kitchen was blocked up and a windown put in its place. At the time, my joiner told me I didn’t neen planning permission or a building warrant. However, I am now selling the house and have been asked whether I have these in place. Are these required for this work?

Thanks

    David,
Unless the property is a Listed Building, within a Conservation Area and/or there was a specific Planning Condition on the original planning permission for the house/extension, Planning Permission would not have been required.
In terms of the Building, if new lintels were installed above the window/door ways, the work should be exempt from needing a Building Warrant.
