Retail store alterations

Retail store alterations

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert Hi,

I’d be grateful if you could help. We are looking to make some amends to a retail unit in an Aberdeen shopping centre, and believe we may need a building warrant. We are looking to replace the shopfront with new and then replace some of the lighting and a couple of pieces of furniture with new like for like.

If you could let me know if a warrant is required and what type of application should be made, where it sits in terms of category i would be grateful.

Many thanks

Sonny

    Sonny.

This is hard to tell without knowing the specific project details.

However if you are making minor alteration like amendment to lights, display units etc… it is unlikely these alterations would required permission.

With regards to the shop front it will depend on its type and location/setting and if it has any structure to it.

I would recommend contacting a local architect to discuss your proposals with and perhaps visit you to look at the project in more detail.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission.
