Velux style roof windows

Velux style roof windows

Do I Need Permission - Ask An Expert Do I require planning permission or a building warrant for the installation of Velux Style windows at the rear of my house? I already have velux windows in the front of the room facing the road. I am looking to install 2 additional ones to the rear of my house facing the garden.

Thank you

Chris

  1. Hi Chris.

You wouldn’t need planning Permission unless you live in a listed building, conservation area or you live in a building that’s part of flats/apartments.

You would need a building warrant if you make changes to the structure of the roof, e.g. You remove a truss to allow to roof window to be fitted.

Thanks for using Do I Need Permission.
